Bio

Dr. Mor­eira works as Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor at the Ser­vices and Cyber-Secu­ri­ty (SCS) group of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Twente. He has back­ground in com­put­er sci­ence, par­tic­u­lar­ly soft­ware engi­neer­ing, and his research tar­gets seman­tic inter­op­er­abil­i­ty of ICT solu­tions for seam­less data inte­gra­tion and ana­lyt­ics.
He has been work­ing in the appli­ca­tion of the Find­able, Acces­si­ble, Inter­op­er­a­ble and Reusable (FAIR) data prin­ci­ples in mul­ti­ple con­texts, such as for the repro­ducibil­i­ty of sci­en­tif­ic work­flows (machine learn­ing pipelines), the top­ic of his post­doc­tor­al research at the VU Ams­ter­dam.
He con­tributes to stan­dard­iza­tion work groups, such as the Euro­pean Telecom­mu­ni­ca­tion Stan­dard­iza­tion Insti­tute (ETSI) e.g., the IoT ontol­ogy stan­dard (SAREF) for e‑Health and Aging Well domain. He par­tic­i­pates in work­ing groups of the Research Data Alliance (RDA) and imple­men­ta­tion net­works of GO-FAIR, rep­re­sent­ing the GO-FAIR Brazil office in Europe.
Dur­ing his PhD he was the main author of more than 10 peer-reviewed pub­li­ca­tions, includ­ing a best paper award in FOIS 2018. His PhD research tar­get­ed Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence for data inte­gra­tion in smart emer­gency ser­vices that are sup­port­ed by IoT tech­nolo­gies, with­in the con­text of dis­as­ter risk reduc­tion for smart cities. Dr. Mor­eira is a review­er of aca­d­e­m­ic pub­li­ca­tions for jour­nals and con­fer­ences.
