AI-Act Working Group

The AI-Act is the first-ever legal framework on artificial intelligence, which addresses the risks of AI and and aims to provide clear requirements and obligations regarding specific uses of AI.

At 4TU.ResearchData we have set up an AI-Act Working Group to discuss our current understanding of the AI-Act legal framework and how it can be applied in research activities. Together we will work to:

  • inform ourselves and each other; increase our awareness around the topic;
  • identify concerns and challenges;
  • share our first recommendation document for managing data in AI-related academic projects.

Anyone interested in the topic and working in a Dutch institution or university is welcome to join this Working Group. Participation will entail:

  • several meetings to get to know each other, and share our general understanding of the AI-Act, invite knowledgeable people, and raise questions.
  • side activities for those who are interested in finding answers to our common questions (either legal or practical)
  • contribution to a short report summarising our basic understanding of it.
