We’re hiring: Join the 4TU.ResearchData team!

4TU.ResearchData is expand­ing its team with three new posi­tions to sup­port excit­ing new ini­tia­tives in open sci­ence, FAIR data, and AI repro­ducibil­i­ty. All three roles are part of projects fund­ed by Open Sci­ence NL (NWO) and are based at TU Delft Library.

Whether you are an expe­ri­enced project leader, a spe­cial­ist in research soft­ware qual­i­ty and accred­i­ta­tion, or a skilled soft­ware engi­neer with a pas­sion for open source — there is a role for you. Togeth­er, the three new team mem­bers will work on mak­ing research data, soft­ware and AI/ML mod­els more trans­par­ent, repro­ducible and reusable, in line with the FAIR prin­ci­ples and emerg­ing respon­si­ble AI guide­lines.

The open posi­tions are:

  • FAIR for AI Project Coor­di­na­tor — As the lead of the FAIR for AI project, you will over­see day-to-day project man­age­ment, coor­di­nate across mul­ti­ple Dutch research insti­tu­tions (includ­ing the Nether­lands eScience Cen­ter, Nikhef and the Uni­ver­si­ty of Twente), and ensure that project deliv­er­ables stay on track. You will also take respon­si­bil­i­ty for finan­cial admin­is­tra­tion and stake­hold­er engage­ment, and play a key role in shap­ing out­comes such as a soft­ware repro­ducibil­i­ty ser­vice and improved cura­tion work­flows. This is a senior role suit­ed to some­one with a strong track record in lead­ing com­plex, mul­ti-part­ner projects. Apply by 3 April 2026.

  • FAIR for AI Project Offi­cer — In this role, you will con­tribute direct­ly to the FAIR for AI project with a par­tic­u­lar focus on devel­op­ing accred­i­ta­tion cri­te­ria and a grad­ed badge sys­tem to assess the qual­i­ty and repro­ducibil­i­ty of data, soft­ware and mod­els. You will con­nect with and build on inter­na­tion­al ini­tia­tives such as CODECHECK, and work close­ly with project part­ners to gath­er require­ments and author deliv­er­ables. Along­side your work in the FAIR for AI project, you will also con­tribute to oth­er 4TU.ResearchData projects relat­ed to infra­struc­ture and skills and train­ing. Apply by 10 April 2026.

  • Soft­ware Engi­neer (Open Source) — As a soft­ware engi­neer, you will work on the fur­ther devel­op­ment of Dje­huty, the open source repos­i­to­ry plat­form at the heart of 4TU.ResearchData. You will design and imple­ment new fea­tures and work­flows that improve the repro­ducibil­i­ty and reusabil­i­ty of research soft­ware and AI/ML mod­els, and con­tribute to the Research Soft­ware Direc­to­ry (RSD). This role requires strong Python skills and expe­ri­ence with open source devel­op­ment, and offers the oppor­tu­ni­ty to make a tan­gi­ble tech­ni­cal con­tri­bu­tion to open sci­ence infra­struc­ture in the Nether­lands and beyond.
