We’re hiring: Join the 4TU.ResearchData team!

4TU.ResearchData is expanding its team with three new positions to support exciting new initiatives in open science, FAIR data, and AI reproducibility. All three roles are part of projects funded by Open Science NL (NWO) and are based at TU Delft Library.

Whether you are an experienced project leader, a specialist in research software quality and accreditation, or a skilled software engineer with a passion for open source — there is a role for you. Together, the three new team members will work on making research data, software and AI/ML models more transparent, reproducible and reusable, in line with the FAIR principles and emerging responsible AI guidelines.

The open positions are:

  • FAIR for AI Project Coordinator — As the lead of the FAIR for AI project, you will oversee day-to-day project management, coordinate across multiple Dutch research institutions (including the Netherlands eScience Center, Nikhef and the University of Twente), and ensure that project deliverables stay on track. You will also take responsibility for financial administration and stakeholder engagement, and play a key role in shaping outcomes such as a software reproducibility service and improved curation workflows. This is a senior role suited to someone with a strong track record in leading complex, multi-partner projects. Apply by 3 April 2026.

  • FAIR for AI Project Officer — In this role, you will contribute directly to the FAIR for AI project with a particular focus on developing accreditation criteria and a graded badge system to assess the quality and reproducibility of data, software and models. You will connect with and build on international initiatives such as CODECHECK, and work closely with project partners to gather requirements and author deliverables. Alongside your work in the FAIR for AI project, you will also contribute to other 4TU.ResearchData projects related to infrastructure and skills and training. Apply by 10 April 2026.

  • Software Engineer (Open Source) — As a software engineer, you will work on the further development of Djehuty, the open source repository platform at the heart of 4TU.ResearchData. You will design and implement new features and workflows that improve the reproducibility and reusability of research software and AI/ML models, and contribute to the Research Software Directory (RSD). This role requires strong Python skills and experience with open source development, and offers the opportunity to make a tangible technical contribution to open science infrastructure in the Netherlands and beyond. Apply by 10 April 2026.
