Welcome to the event for FAIR data pioneers!

Join the 4TU.ResearchData Community event and explore resources, projects and new tools.

Our community is all about sharing knowledge and supporting each other to make research more FAIR. The themes of this spring meet-up are share FAIR practices, build connections and imagine the future of our community.

  • 13:15 – 13:45 FAIR Data Fund grantees
    Projects presentations by 2023 FAIR Data Fund Grantees
  • 13:45 – 14:00 Break
  • 14:00 – 15:00 Break-out #1 Data Hunters
    The first role play game about data management! Explore a research project in Kathmandu and play a role to collect, manage and share sensitive data. You will face dangers and critical choices to bring home your research assessment alive! 
  • 14:00 – 15:00 Break-out #2 Level up your reproducibility game with Quarto
    Quarto® is an open-source scientific and technical publishing system built on Pandoc. You will learn how to create dynamic content with Python or R, and discover projects in development.
  • 15:00 – 15:15 Break
  • 15:15 – 15:35 Working groups introduction
    The 3 working groups will share findings and introduce to everyone the topics they are addressing in 2023. This is a great opportunity to join one of the groups on FAIR and Reproducible Code, Privacy and GDPR, and Engagement and Education.
  • 15:35 – 16:05 The Data Academy – Join the conversation, share ideas
    We are working on developing the Data Academy, a series of workshops and courses on FAIR data and software. During this activity, you will be called to share your ideas and you will learn more about the project.

  • 16:05 – 16:30 Skills and competencies to be a Data Steward and career paths
    The Skills4EOSC project aims to Advance Open Science (OS) skills by unifying the current training in Europe. One of the project tasks is to develop minimum viable skillsets (MVS) and career paths for data stewards. We will facilitate an interactive session aimed at data stewards to draw on their knowledge and experiences to inform revisions to the current MVS. Those interested in data steward roles are also welcome.
  • 16:30 – 18:00 Snacks and drinks
