Our com­mu­ni­ty is all about shar­ing knowl­edge and sup­port­ing each oth­er to make research more FAIR. The themes of this spring meet-up are share FAIR prac­tices, build con­nec­tions and imag­ine the future of our com­mu­ni­ty.

  • 14:00 — 15:00 Break-out #1 Data Hunters
    The first role play game about data man­age­ment! Explore a research project in Kath­man­du and play a role to col­lect, man­age and share sen­si­tive data. You will face dan­gers and crit­i­cal choic­es to bring home your research assess­ment alive! 
  • 14:00 — 15:00 Break-out #2 Lev­el up your repro­ducibil­i­ty game with Quar­to
    Quar­to® is an open-source sci­en­tif­ic and tech­ni­cal pub­lish­ing sys­tem built on Pan­doc. You will learn how to cre­ate dynam­ic con­tent with Python or R, and dis­cov­er projects in devel­op­ment.
  • 15:00 — 15:15 Break
  • 15:15 — 15:35 Work­ing groups intro­duc­tion
    The 3 work­ing groups will share find­ings and intro­duce to every­one the top­ics they are address­ing in 2023. This is a great oppor­tu­ni­ty to join one of the groups on FAIR and Repro­ducible Code, Pri­va­cy and GDPR, and Engage­ment and Edu­ca­tion.
  • 15:35 — 16:05 The Data Acad­e­my — Join the con­ver­sa­tion, share ideas
    We are work­ing on devel­op­ing the Data Acad­e­my, a series of work­shops and cours­es on FAIR data and soft­ware. Dur­ing this activ­i­ty, you will be called to share your ideas and you will learn more about the project.

  • 16:05 — 16:30 Skills and com­pe­ten­cies to be a Data Stew­ard and career paths
    The Skills4EOSC project aims to Advance Open Sci­ence (OS) skills by uni­fy­ing the cur­rent train­ing in Europe. One of the project tasks is to devel­op min­i­mum viable skillsets (MVS) and career paths for data stew­ards. We will facil­i­tate an inter­ac­tive ses­sion aimed at data stew­ards to draw on their knowl­edge and expe­ri­ences to inform revi­sions to the cur­rent MVS. Those inter­est­ed in data stew­ard roles are also wel­come.
