Dr. Andrews has a back­ground in astro­phys­i­cal research. She did her bachelor’s degree in Astron­o­my at Pon­ti­f­i­cia Uni­ver­si­dad Católi­ca de Chile. She also obtained a MSc in Astro­physics at the same uni­ver­si­ty, inves­ti­gat­ing the gas around clus­ters of galax­ies. This study was done in col­lab­o­ra­tion with researchers from Uni­ver­si­dad de Chile. She then did a PhD in Astro­physics at Ster­rewacht Lei­den, where she inves­ti­gat­ed the for­ma­tion and evo­lu­tion of organ­ic mol­e­cules in the inter­stel­lar medi­um. Such research was car­ried out in close col­lab­o­ra­tion with researchers from NASA Ames Research Cen­ter and the Uni­ver­si­ty of West­ern Ontario. Since the end­ing of her PhD, Dr. Andrews has acquired expe­ri­ence as Data Sci­en­tist for Kudaw S. A. Chile, and she is cur­rent­ly work­ing as the Data Stew­ard of the Fac­ul­ty of Aero­space Engi­neer­ing of the Tech­nis­che Uni­ver­siteit Delft.
