Bio

Arie Purwanto completed his study in electrical engineering with information systems specialization and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) Indonesia in 2002. In April 2004, Arie joined the Information Technology (IT) Bureau of the Indonesian Supreme Audit Court. His primary responsibilities include developing tailor-made applications for internal use and providing information systems or computer-assisted audit services. Arie received a master’s degree in accounting science with specialization in auditing from UGM’s Economic and Business Faculty in 2008.In July 2016, Arie received a doctoral scholarship from the Indonesian Education Endowment Fund to research citizen engagement with open government data in the Information and Communication Technology research group at the Technology Policy and Management Faculty at the Delft University of Technology under the supervision of Prof.dr.ir. Marijn Janssen and Dr. Anneke Zuiderwijk. During the doctoral program, Arie has supervised a master thesis based on his research topic, namely open budget data, and authored several journal articles and conference papers. He was also involved in reviewing manuscripts submitted to several journal and conference outlets such as Government Information Quarterly, Heliyon, Information Polity, Transforming Government: People, Process and Policy, Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research (dg.o), European Conference on Information Systems, and International Conference on Information Systems.
