Fair data fund 2027 Pre-announcement

I am happy to announce that the Fair Data Fund will run again in 2027! This is a pre-announcement. We will be open for submissions at the end of September and close in mid-November.

The Fair Data Fund has been offered by 4TU.ResearchData for 6 years, and it is one of our favorite ways to give back to our 4TU community. With the FDF, researchers can apply for funding up to €5000 to transform their existing datasets and software into FAIR compliant research products.

Any researchers at one of our 4TU partner institutes — UT, TU/e, WUR, and TU Delft — are eligible to apply for the FDF.

As a FDF grantee, you will receive funding and one year’s support from our 4TU.ResearchData team to help you achieve your FAIR goals. Check out some of our use cases from previous FDF stories to get a sense of what is possible, but keep in mind we are here to think along with you during the process. Don’t be afraid to propose something unconventional!

Applicants must have a demonstrable relationship with TU Delft, University of Twente, Eindhoven University, and Wageningen University and Research. Detailed eligibility criteria, conditions, and general process information will be released at the end of September when applications officially open, but will not differ substantially from former editions.
