The Thematic Digital Competence Center for the Natural & Engineering Sciences (TDCC NES) kicked off this September 2022.

Housed by 4TU.ResearchData, the TDCC NES is one the three TDCC’s funded by NWO (together with Life Sciences and Social Sciences). The aim is to further facilitate the implementation of FAIR Data and Software by mitigating challenges currently faced by the NES researchers in long term data and software preservation, integrated tools of workflow, specific metadata schemes and vocabularies.

“Hosting of TDCC NES is very important strategically for 4TU.ResearchData and for the 4TU.Federation as it brings about opportunities of closer collaboration within the entire domain of Natural and Engineering Sciences” says Marta Teperek, Director of 4TU.ResearchData.

The TDCC NES will be community driven, and has financial means for a period of 10 years to be able to support project initiatives.

“Currently we are in the process of hiring two staff members, building the network, and have initiated two bottleneck projects. If you have questions on the TDCC NES, please let us know by mailing to researchdata@4tu.nl “ adds Jacquelijn Ringersma, TDCC NES Network Manager.
